GPOY - turban edition p.2

'Scuse my interesting/lacking facial expressions. These are quite literally the only four photos that were taken of this outfit, and they were done so in a hurry. I feel like every outfit post lately has begun with me apologizing for my posing/expressions. It's like "hey, I look silly, but please take a peak at my nice clothes." Fair enough.

I won't lie, I really like this outfit. Black is my comfort zone. I wear at least one piece of black clothing with everyone outfit, and head to toe black is not uncommon. Bright colors scare me senseless, but I LOVE this pink. I'm a little obsessed. I'm also a little obsessed with these chinos. And my pink jacket. And this turban. I've grown a little bit tired of the sea of black, white and grey that greets me whenever I open my closet, and over the past week have been gravitating towards (mostly) bright pink, green and blue. These chinos are my first bright contribution to my closet this season. Here's to hoping that I actually get my money's worth out of these things.

Okay, who cares to take a guess as to how many really strange stares I got from people in Starbucks/the mall/outside/the train today? If you guessed uh, everyone, you'd be right. I'm sure the grand majority of the thoughts were something along the lines of "????" but there's something suuuuper empowering about that. I thought that I would feel very uncomfortable wearing this much color, but I actually really enjoyed it.

  2. I love the shirt jacket and jeans combo! I bought some pink skinny jeans forever ago and I've hardly worn them because I have been stuck for what to pair them with and I haven't been very brave! I'm away to chuck them on with my blue tartan shirt to see how that looks. cheers for the inspiration!
