The move - according to my iPhone

Well, I have officially moved! Last Friday I headed out with my parents, my roommate and her dad to Victoria, BC. We spent Friday night in Kamloops and got here Saturday afternoon. It's been a crazy few days trying to get settled into our new place (which is a total gem, by the way) but it's finally starting to feel pretty homey. Today we finally got our Internet and cable hooked up, and uh, thank god. It kind of grosses me out how much I missed going on the Internet. My parents left this morning, so I am officially on my own! I haven't shed a tear yet, but I also don't think that the situation has really hit me. Since my parents left this morning I have quite literally spent the whole day on my computer. I'm starting to go a little stir crazy in this house, but I don't have a clue where I should wander to! Jenna and I are going to take a quick little stroll to the grocery store later, pick up a bottle of wine and settle in for some True Blood tonight. Way to get out and explore our new home, hm?
Suggestions on hotspots on the Island are MUCH appreciated.

  2. I think that's a good way to christen things. My first week was pretty similar -- internet issues, telephone, building IKEA furniture, cleaning the hell outta the place, drinking irresponsible amounts of wine, etc.

I only visited Victoria very briefly this summer, but I'd probably like to visit the downtown again to check out all of the massive independent bookstores around there. I counted about 5 of them, and from what I was able to figure from browsing, there's lots of gems to be had.

Also, there's a little mexican restaurant downtown which is interesting -- cheap and yummy, and they definitely have a unique philosophy about things: http://www.hernandezcocina.com/

I know so little about the city -- that's pretty much it. Have fun discovering it for yourself -- also, let me know if there are any road races or such happening up on the island. If I have the day free, I'd be happy to sail over and run it with you if you're down. =)
