October Unprocessed is a month-long event thought-up by Andrew Wilder of the Eating Rules blog. It is a month long pledge to cut out processed foods. More than that, it is a lesson in label-reading and general awareness of what exactly goes into our food.
Last year, I participated in the challenge by cutting out all processed foods. I have since kept up with eating more or less all whole foods, with few exceptions. I am participating in October Unprocessed again this year, and urge you all to pledge as well. For some, October Unprocessed might not mean giving up processed foods entirely. Perhaps you'll cut out refined sugars or grains, or maybe you'll spend more time cooking your meals instead of eating out. Whatever it is, head on over to Eating Rules to take the pledge.
